• Built and executed the go-to-market strategy for our new content and social sentiment data API business. • Responsible for managing current and expanding content partnership channels to drive engagement and revenue through referral, marketing, and reseller agreements. • Provided valuable feedback to our product teams for documentation, support, and product improvements. • Collaborated with advertising and sponsorship teams on monetization opportunities across content and product lines.
At Stocktwits, I identified an opportunity to monetize years of unique social sentiment data collected from millions of users, which had no formal commercialization path despite competitors selling similar feeds and inbound interest from hedge funds. I was tasked with launching a dedicated B2B API business from the ground up, with a goal of generating $300K in sales within 4 months of launch. I owned the full go-to-market strategy: defining pricing tiers, identifying target customer segments (retail brokerages, hedge funds, fintech apps, and media companies), building customized pitch decks for each vertical, drafting legal documents, and providing feedback to the product team to improve API functionality and documentation. To drive pipeline, I ran a multi-touch outreach campaign to roughly 50 hedge funds and fintechs. When a major brokerage pushed back on our initial pricing structure, I redesigned the model into a usage-based tiering approach, which not only closed that deal but became the repeatable template adopted for all future API contracts. The result was $340K in signed contracts within 4 months, exceeding the original $300K target by 13%, across 8 signed deals spanning hedge funds, fintechs, and a major brokerage. Beyond the immediate revenue, this work established a scalable, usage-based pricing framework that continues to be used for future API deals, turning a previously unmonetized data asset into a durable, repeatable revenue line for the company.
