Since joining Snyk last March, I have been obsessed with the question of why people love their work, their companies, and the time they spend doing it. And what makes them want to share that passion with others. Not in a performative way, but in a way that comes from within. They are proud. They are excited. They're working hard at something that matters deeply to them, and they want to talk about it. I want Snyk to be a place where that happens. But it's not always easy to tell your story, to post about something you feel really great about, or to show up at a conference or networking event, even when you know you have something important to say. When I think about the experience of being a person out there, trying their best every day, having a way to express your passion is a huge and very important part of loving what you do. That felt like something we could support our people on more directly. So I brought the conversation in-house. For Snyk's 11th birthday, I put together a panel for our employees on personal branding and telling your own career story, held right at Snyk, in my own backyard, on September 22. The panel featured Peter Zotto, Founder at Trove, Matt Crane Founder at MGMT Boston, and Mike Gutner, CPO at Toast. My colleague Ryan McSweeney moderated, so a Snyker led the conversation for Snykers We received wonderful feedback from the colleagues who attended, both in-person and virtually. So much so that we're considering making the event a continuing series with more speakers. The lessons from the talk are starting to spread, and the team has momentum in talking and posting about the work they are most proud of.

As part of Snyk's 11th birthday celebrations, I moderated "Your Story, Snyk's Story," a panel focused on personal branding and why it matters as the company moves into its next chapter. The goal was simple: help Snyk employees learn how to tell their own stories well, both for their careers and as advocates for the company. Big shoutout to @Katherine Berman , who connected me to @Peter Zotto @Erin Phinney and the whole Trove team, who helped round out the panel with additional voices. The final lineup included @Peter Zotto , @Mike Gutner and @Matt Crane , who joined me live in Snyk's Boston office. We asked some pointed questions, ran a live Q&A with the audience, and capped off the event with wine and charcuterie so people could keep the conversation going afterward. The turnout filled our Boston cafe with employees who stayed engaged through the whole session and the Q&A after. The morning after the event, people were still stopping me in the halls to talk about it. There's already momentum to run more of these panels, and I'm looking forward to seeing employees put the storytelling advice from the panelists into practice!
