Growing from my role as an associate, I took on more responsibility as a software engineer. I took the opportunity to lead on-call training to a team of ~8. This helped us to improve our incident playbooks, proactively set corrective actions to avoid downtime and gain knowledge on our services. I continued participating in on-call despite it being optional as a primarily frontend focused developer as I wanted to maintain my full-stack development skills. In the frontend space, I continued to improve my skills and worked on a wider breadth of the application. I was introduced to new technologies such as RxJS that I worked with daily. In terms of depth, I studied Angular to a deeper level to help increase the speed of my deliverables. Native web components also become a large part of the tech stack used and so I deep dived into them. As our application grew, complexities grew as well and I took a strong interest in reducing unnecessary overhead while improving existing processes where possible. I assisted onboarding of new team members and became a strong contributor to new onboarding documentation.
Associate Software Engineer
JUL 2020 - FEB 2022 · 1.7 years
After completing my final year of college, I returned to Genesys as a full time employee. Most of my previous comfort is in frontend applications, so I opted to work on more backend and AWS service deployments to improve my skills in this area. I have been working in a team to build a highly performant web application with Angular 2, REST APIs and assisted in team SCRUM planning. To improve and develop, I have taken courses on AWS, Bash, and Spring by utilising personal development time allocated every week and on my own time.
Software Engineering Intern
JAN 2019 - AUG 2019 · 8 months
As part of my 3rd year placement programme, I worked with Genesys as a frontend web developer helping to integrate an existing application into a new suite of apps. Part of my work ensured 18+ languages localised appropriately for users by using 3rd party tools for ease of maintainability in the future. I was also able to explore the field of pen-testing during my last few weeks as this is an area that greatly interests me post graduation. During my time with security at Genesys, I produced a penetration test report and recommend remedial steps to aid in application security; I have attached a redacted document of my pen test report as evidence of my reasoning and thought process.

Software Engineering Intern
JUN 2016 - AUG 2018 · 2.3 years
At BrickSimple I was involved in a wide array of projects, starting with Angular and React projects, creating banner ads, to working with Unity for VR environments. This was my first internship and I got exposure to many elements of working in a team, with clients and on small internal projects. Some of my work was research on emerging technologies like the use of blockchain in the medical and insurance industry, this work was pioneering and experimental. One exciting project I was involved in was when I led a team of two employees to perform the first 360 degree Virtual Reality Live stream from the US Capitol and used Google Cardboard and Youtube Live Streaming tools to accomplish. Please note, the dates indicated as employed are from first duration of employment to last duration. I worked during the summer months of May - August in 2016, 2017, and 2018. My employment was a repeated summer internship.

Junior Staff Level Member
JUN 2015 - JUN 2016 · 1.1 years
Building upon previous 3 years of work experience at Holiday House, I became a Junior Staff member to help ensure smooth running of daily activities and documentation of arising issues. I managed a team of employees regarding individual animals' needs and preparation for incoming guests, as well as the departing of guests. A large part of my work was involved in caring for our guests needs throughout all stages of their stay to help them transition and maintain good health. I gave tours of the facility to prospective clients and updated clients of their respective animals well being during their stay. This helped to build a relationship and give transparent feedback, while also keeping dialogue open for questions and/or concerns.
Activities Manager
DEC 2014 - JUN 2015 · 7 months
Having previously been a member of the Activities team, I was promoted to Activities Manager to grow and improve the offering of one-to-one time between activities staff and our guests. In this role, I managed the delivery of activities from a team of employees to our guests, while maintaining an exceptional level of care. Some animals needed special attention and I worked on creating a system to ensure these needs were communicated and delivered. I was also responsible for keeping an up-to-date and plentiful supply of items for our staff like harnesses, doggy bags, and safety equipment.

Marketing Intern
MAY 2015 - AUG 2015 · 4 months
Coming from a sales background at Peddler's Village when working festival weekends, I used my time as a marketing intern to see the wider picture of marketing and how it plays into customer perception, engagement and experience. As a marketing intern I not only increased interaction with our target demographic via social media by 61%, but also gave my input from how festival goers visited and their typical habits when perusing the 100+ shops and numerous activities through casual conversation. Part of the success of new campaigns involved working with other departments like sales, finance, and design.
