Darby is a HealthTech AI startup that aims to transform DME (Durable Medical Equipment) suppliers’ order intake workflow from a labor-intensive bottleneck into an automated competitive advantage. It achieves this through an AI-powered transaction platform that automatically sorts inbound faxes by document type and referral source, extracts patient demographics and clinical data with hospital-grade accuracy, and qualifies orders against Medicare LCDs and NCDs in real time, before a team even sees the referral. As a Software Engineer Intern at Darby, I contributed the following: ♦ Established baseline accuracy metrics for AI order intake workflows within 5 weeks by designing and deploying a Spring Boot micro-service that executed automated test runs and generated CSV-based statistical accuracy reports for 65 orders across 3 product categories ♦ Scaled AI order intake workflows from 2 to 12 product categories (6× increase) by architecting a Spring Boot–based healthcare policy ingestion, replication, and archiving system that parsed heterogeneous CSV and Excel policy files and enabled teams to onboard new product content without code changes ♦ Drove cross-team adoption of AI workflow improvements by delivering 2 themed lightning talks translating complex technical systems into actionable insights for business and engineering teams

Orientation Ambassador

By taking the role as a peer mentor in 2021 Fall Orientation Week, Orientation Ambassadors help students adjust to the unique cultural and linguistic environment of NYU Shanghai.
