I co-founded Limitr after identifying a critical gap in the market: companies scaling usage-based pricing were hamstrung by outdated billing systems that couldn't handle real-time metering. This technical limitation was causing significant revenue leakage and triggering customer complaints about unexpected bills—problems that threatened both the bottom line and customer relationships for growing SaaS companies.
To build and launch Limitr from the ground up, I led product strategy and conducted hundreds of customer discovery interviews to validate our approach and deeply understand the pain points engineering and finance teams were experiencing. I then personally onboarded our early customers, using these hands-on interactions to continuously refine the user experience and ensure our solution genuinely solved the problems we set out to address. One of our pilot customers was a B2B SaaS company transitioning from flat-fee to usage pricing, and the hardest part of closing them was convincing their engineering team to trust our metering accuracy over their home-built system. I addressed this skepticism by running parallel tests and providing high-touch onboarding support to build confidence in our platform.
Within our first two months, we signed two pilot customers generating $20K in total contract value. More importantly, we delivered an average 80% reduction in engineering time spent building and maintaining billing and metering infrastructure, dramatically improved customer success workflows, and enabled our customers to launch new usage-based products to market in weeks instead of months. This early traction validated our product-market fit and demonstrated real, measurable value for companies navigating the complex transition to modern pricing models.
