I founded Renavest after witnessing a gap in how companies support their employees' financial wellbeing. Despite having stable jobs and competitive salaries, many of my friends and colleagues were experiencing significant financial anxiety—and I realized that traditional workplace benefits weren't addressing the emotional and psychological dimensions of money stress. This insight became the catalyst for building a solution that could bridge this gap.
To validate the concept and bring it to life, I began by interviewing 30 HR leaders to deeply understand the need from an organizational perspective. Once I confirmed the demand, I partnered with a licensed financial therapist to co-design a curriculum that would address both the practical and emotional aspects of financial wellness. We built a minimum viable product in just four months and tested it with three pilot companies to refine the experience and gather feedback before our official launch.
Since launching, Renavest has served over 500 employees across eight companies. Our post-program surveys show that 87% of participants report reduced financial anxiety, validating our core hypothesis that employees need this kind of holistic support. One of our clients experienced a 20% reduction in voluntary turnover among employees who participated in the program—a powerful indicator of how addressing financial stress can improve retention and organizational health.
The most significant challenge I faced was establishing credibility without a traditional background in financial services. I navigated this by strategically partnering with licensed professionals to ensure our offering was both credible and compliant, and by securing an early pilot with a well-known tech company. That initial partnership became our anchor reference and opened doors to additional clients, proving that a compelling solution combined with the right partnerships can overcome initial skepticism.
