I joined Federal-Mogul to build a global talent management function from the ground up, right after a new CEO and CHRO took over and set the company on a path to split into two operating companies, Federal-Mogul Powertrain and Federal-Mogul Motorparts, sharing scaled capability teams like Talent Management. There was no existing enterprise-wide academy or learning infrastructure to support that transition, and leadership needed a consistent way to build talent and leadership bench strength across both new organizations.
I designed and stood up the Federal-Mogul Academy as a full suite of programs spanning entry-level through executive talent. This included internship and rotational development programs in the US, Mexico, EMEA, India, and China, a global core curriculum covering leadership, communication, finance for non-financial managers, problem solving, and selecting talent, and assessment centers used for both selection and development. I also led the team that built out a global eLearning curriculum and LMS so business units could deploy consistent training against company standards, and delivered open-enrollment live training on five continents.
At the executive level, I designed and co-facilitated the Leading from Core Values program with Jan Emerton, hosting session in the US, Mexico, Poland, Hungary, France, and Germany from 2014 to 2017 with more than 100 participants drawn from across every function, region, and business unit. The program became the common leadership development experience that tied Federal-Mogul's culture together as the company operated as two segments, and gave the organization a repeatable way to develop and connect its leadership network globally.
