I believe that the future of the small business economy runs on agentic AI. Instead of everyone working for megacorps, I imagine an economy where ten million micro-businesses (three employees or less) reach $1M+ in annual revenue using practical AI tools. AI does not need to be a "rich get richer" story; our democracy and society needs agentic SMBs.
Nutum is a consulting practice focused on implementing real, working AI solutions like chatbots, voice agents, and automations. We've grown entirely through word-of-mouth referrals.
A standout example of this work is a New Hampshire-based property management company that hired me to solve a costly, tedious problem: over 20 hours per month of manual data entry caused by outdated electric utility billing systems, spanning more than 100 properties. I designed and implemented an agentic workflow using Claude to scrape, parse, and programmatically enter monthly statement data directly into two separate CRMs, replacing a slow and error-prone manual process.
Now my client's monthly "human in the loop" time is down to under one hour — a reduction of roughly 95% — while also eliminating frequent data entry mistakes.
This project exemplifies the broader impact of an agentic SMB: immediate, measurable ROI for small business operators today, not someday.
